We're getting closer!! The meeting went pretty good and it looks like it will be on the agenda for the next meeting. It has to be on the agenda in order to be voted on. This was confusing for us but Jennifer Pfefferkorn referred it to the president so next month we go back and speak again.

This is by far a done deal and we still need more signup's. I had 969 signup's on petition that I showed to the board and Pfefferkorn was sent a letter along with another 150 signatures from students at LHS to get the Red Back in Red Raiders. All of this community involvement is making them quite nervous but as I previously said, it is far from a done deal. We still need to convince them as to why they need to change it back.

The original board members that voted nae to the name change were, Pfefferkorn,Lee and Swank so we need to change the minds of at least 1 or 2 more to get a favorable vote. The most important thing we can do now is to get more signatures. For those that live in the area and would like to get some sign ups I have made a pdf file that you can download and print at this new address>> I also placed a link to that address on the signup page. That new link will let you see copies of what we presented to the board along with old mailings. For now though we need more local signup's. For those that can't help wit sign ups then please continue your calls to the three members below.. we need to sway at least one of them.

The next time I go there I would like to have at least 3000 signup's and although it sounds like a lot, with a little help we could make it . There are 20 sign ups on a sheet so all we need are an additional 85 sheets with what we have already. Take a sheet with you shopping, to church, to school and you'll be surprised how easy it is to fill them up. I found if you just start one conversation like "Hey, would you like to sign my petition?" You'll get an immediate response of "For What?" and I just say.. " Too put the Red back in Red Raider!!" I will then get that person and anyone in close proximity also. You'll find almost 99% positive results.

We are also forming (quickly) a group that are going to go out and get mass names as a group. If you think you would like to be part of that group then please call me at (715)424-4462 or email me through either the goochs.com site or the rapidswestside.com site

I don't want to be sending out emails too much so I will be also setting up a somewhat hot list on then site. The items that we need help with will be marked, so please check the new address page occasionally.

Also a BIG THANKS for all of you that made calls.. that really shook them up. As we get closer to the next meeting, March 4th , we will ask that you make calls to the people above.
